Description automatically generated

We are very excited to share that the talented Chris Summers, pictured above with Team BC Junior Women's (2021) Champions, is Vancouver Curling Club's new Head Coach. Chris has completed the Advanced Coaching Diploma - Competition Development Coach (previously known as a Level 4 Coach) and will bring his extensive experience to our coaching team to grow and improve on how we share and instruct our sport.

Chris's passion for facilitating curling covers all levels from introducing the sport to beginners, helping intermediate curlers learn new techniques, to competition level coaching. Both as a volunteer and coach Chris's determination kept junior programming going in Metro Vancouver through the pandemic and we are excited to see him bring these talents to our ice to grow our own Junior and Little Rockers programs. Chris will also be leading the charge in the creation of a new Youth Competition Development Program. We hope to provide Chris with the space to build on his amazing coaching and facilitation skills so that we can see just as many wins in programming growth as he has experienced in podium finishes.

If you are interested in working with Chris as a curling coach we are always looking for new instructors, check out the job posting here.
